No, the topic is "practicing English", not learning... If one is studying it, there are teachers and lots of websites for that! Sure I'd correct some mistakes, but beginners or elementary level students make so many mistakes that it's just impossible to correct and explain all of them. So I just don't pay attention.

The weather in my city has completely spoilt. Yesterday it was frosty and windy, the T dropped down to -16, today the cyclone has brought us some snow, a slight snowstorm that might continue during the whole day. The visibility is about 1 km now.

kir_vik Those are some lovely convective clouds you have there! We have some of our own, but they come from a huge powerplant nearby. Man-made weather sucks sometimes. The winds are blowing all of that gunk our way and we're having a darker and earlier evening :(
Now I would like you all to read up on the tradition of Thanksgiving and what tomorrow's Holiday symbolizes for a lot of people abroad. That shall be your lesson for today. Have a good one!

kir_vik Why thank you, as mentioned before I started out learning English at an early age with the help of my mother. May she rest in peace. I'm not trying to show off either, my intentions are to help all of you lot to practice your English with fun challenges!
Now, anyone ready to deliver their homework? As much as most of you make fun of America, I firmly believe it's due to sheer lack of knowledge. We fear that, which we don't know!
American culture, and culinary traditions may be new compared to "Domostroy", yet it's still an amazing mix and I have a few favorites. Stuffed turkey, slowly cooked until perfection - fingerlickingly good! Usually served with yams a kind of sweet potato variety, gravy partially made with the delightful juices of that succulent bird, assorted vegetables .
The most important tradition and custom at Thanksgiving is being grateful! Can you tell us the things you are grateful for in your life?
I would have to be very grateful for the most uplifting dream I had yesterday. Despite the huge bridge construction going on nearby. Tons of noise, all through the night. They are behind schedule on this one. Anyone have any ideas where I can go to complain on all that noise? Surely it can't be legal!?

Министр спорта Виталий Мутко получил в подарок от президента Владимира Путина русско-английский разговорник. Такой шутливый презент глава государства вручил Мутко в честь дня рождения.
— Поскольку Виталий Леонтьевич у нас занимается не только нашей деятельностью и не только наш футбол уже возглавляет, но и по международной линии активно функционирует, хочу подарить ему самоучитель английского языка, разговорник и пожелать успехов в изучении, — сказал президент.
Стоит отметить, что самый популярный запрос на фамилию Мутко в интернет-поисковиках даёт ответ: «Мутко на английском». А крылатые выражения Виталия Леонтьевича «Фром май харт», «Ноу криминалити ин Раша», «Туморо митинг будет евро ассоциэйшен» стали популярными интернет-мемами.
28 мая 2015 года Мутко в Цюрихе пообщался с журналистами на английском языке, что в очередной раз спровоцировало волну обсуждений его способностей в этой сфере. Министр спорта сперва прокомментировал подготовку России к проведению чемпионата мира 2018 года. А вот вопрос о возможном допросе в связи с расследованием дела министр, судя по его реакции, не понял.

16 ноября Виталий Мутко, покидая пресс-конференцию, посвящённую допинговому скандалу в российской лёгкой атлетике, отказался ответить на несколько вопросов на английском языке.
— Speak english a little, — отметил министр. — Я как только скажу speak english, потом песни в YouTube.
Не исключено, что Виталий Мутко имел в виду видеоклип, в котором на речь министра спорта на английском языке была наложена музыка. Видеозапись, выложенная на YouTube, уже собрала более 1,3 миллиона просмотров.

At least Mutko said 'a little bit' not 'small', some improvement :)
We should considering that he's quite mature. People starting language learning at such ages unfortunately cannot reach a good level.

Нашел интересный сайт со статьями о торнадо, причем написанными очень подробно, и более интересным языком (не так, как в Википедии). Сейчас читаю эту статью про самый разрушительный смерч в истории Оклахомы.
